National certificate in
" Draughting and Design Technology (DDT)
" Fabrication Engineering
" Vehicle Body Building
" Machine Shop Engineering
" Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
" Millwright Work
" Foundry Work
" Power Plant Operation

Entry Requirements

Application must have 5 "O" level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.

All the above courses are offered to both apprentices and direct entry students except for Draughting and

Design Technology (DDT) which is offered to direct entry only.

All the courses are offered on both full time and part - time basics

Duration of National Certificate courses

" For apprentices, the duration of all NC courses is 36 weeks (i.e. one year or three 12 weeks college terms). For direct entry students the duration is 3 years full time as follows
" First year college attendance
" Second year industrial attachment
" Third year college attendance

Entry Requirements

A minimum of grade 'C' or better in all the subjects at 'NC' in three relevant disciplines or equivalent.

Course Duration

6 X 12 weeks Polytechnic termsof attendance plus 3 months recommended industrialattachment during Polytechnic vacation. All courses start in January

" Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Entry Requirements

  • Full National Diploma or its' equivalent with grade 'C' or better in all subjects
  • The trainee must have at least one year post ND industrial experience

Course duration

3 x 12 weeks (one year full time) or two years part time. The course starts in January of each year.
