Preamble
The Institute of Art & Design or Art School as affectionately
known by the outside community is situated along G. Silundika St.
between 11th and 12th Ave in Bulawayo Central District. The Department
was opened some thirty years ago by a group of practising commercial
artists in the old Technical High School where it is still housed
today. Originally it offered a broad based "Commercial Art"
course, on part - time bases, but over the years it has been expanded
to full - time course in Commercial Design/Graphic Design, Textile
Design, Fashion Design and Industrial Clothing Design & Construction.
New courses will be introduced as the need arises.

Entry Requirements
National Certificate (NC) applicants must pass an aptitude test
AND show a comprehensive portfolio of the candidate own relevant
work AND must also have 5 'O' Levels including English language,
and also Fashion and Fabrics for Clothing.
For Leather, applicants must have 5 'O' levels including Maths and
English
